A mid-November day, splashed in sunshine
A friend who brings mini quiches and pumpkin scones for breakfast and stays for the day. (Who wears red lipstick, too, and makes a fun reel of the day.)
A wool sweater with layers over and under (for adding and subtracting as the sun rises, then sets).
A dash around the countryside for wild grape vine, old man’s beard, and sage
A serendipitous surprise, heaped up and free at the town branch dump - seed pods, flower heads, pine boughs, juniper branches with deep blue berries.
Hydrangea and spruce cones gathered at home.
Lunch of shepherd’s pie, apple slices, and garden carrots with dip, in the sun beside the creek.
Pumpkin pudding for dessert.
Discover our gloves missing, again. And again. (Maggie Mae?)
Finish this year’s wreath, just before sundown.

Oh, how I wish I could wear red lipstick. My mother always wore Red Dynamite by Revlon (when there were only a few shades from which to choose). She was a brunette and very glamorous in the wonderful fifties when glamour was in and the clothes were beautiful. Her first cousin was Ava Gardner. She resembled her quite a bit. You took me back with your comments today. Thank you.
Yes!!!! Foraging and red lipstick!
