There, see? Hope was not lost. With a swirl of open-minded creativity, quiet determination, and a scurry through the underbrush, plucking pinecones from the forest floor, something lovely happened.
To bring beauty from chaos, I simply took some things out and put other things in, the same steps for righting most of life’s wrongs. (And I have to say, if you’re ever in doubt when making Christmas decorations, just add pinecones. Grin.)
What a thoughtful reminder with which to thread my year closed: any mess can be made beautiful.

I’m wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! If the holidays are for you a mixture of joy and sorrow, I understand. You’re in my thoughts. May you find rest, peace, and deeper meaning in this season.
I’ll see you here again on the first of 2024 with January’s Letter and the launch of my month-long mid-winter’s rest, in which I’ll be sharing with you a quiet photo journal called Wintering.
Be well my loves.
So beautiful, the wreath as well as your words! Just what I need, take something out and put something in. Thank you for all that you give to this community! Merry Christmas! Merry God bless and keep you!
