One week. Snow storm, short sleeves, green leaves and blooms, I do’s, dancing, presidents, hail, meals shared, mountain sunsets, bison, overnight guests, bluegrass, friends, family, and love that goes on and on and on.

Reading Lately
The Maine House II - I find that I crave homes and images of them that show character, soul, a deeper story. The authors of this book and its predecessor, The Maine House, themselves life-long Mainers, have captured that so very well.
The Women - A poignant fictional story about the experience of American women serving as nurses in the Vietnam War, and the difficult issues that followed them when they returned home. Kristen Hannah is an excellent storyteller who did a masterful job if weaving a thread of hope through a story of patriotism, pride, service, horrors, pain, annihilation, addiction, abuse, and abandonment.
Eating Lately
Danish Cake (with roasted rhubarb)
This is the cake that you bake early in the morning so it has time to cool to warm, before slicing and serving with hot coffee to friends who arrive to join you mid-morning for girl time at the picnic table by the creek. It’s incredibly moist and delicious, a Danish pastry in cake form. And the roasted rhubarb? Incredible (be generous when measuring it out for the cake).
