How fun is it to page back through where we’ve been and reread, relearn, re-inspire? With a full spring coming up, I’ve decided to dip into the archive and treat us to a sprinkling of reposts, this time without a paywall! Many of you will get to read these for the first time!
The topic of finding yourself, your personal aesthetic and style, your colors, the way of living life that makes you come alive, is one that draws a lot of interest, because we all wonder who we are, don’t we? We’d just like to know. So, here’s a bit more about me. At the end of this post, be sure to click over to read another post I wrote way back in 2018 where I share my process of finding my own visual descriptors. I can’t tell you how this simple act of collecting images has brought such clarity to me personally. I hope it inspires you to do something similar, too.
And just to add more fun, why don’t you come over to my house on Tuesday evening, March 18 at 7:00pm MDT, via Zoom, and let’s talk about this! Click the button below to register.
And now, onto the repost from September 2023…
It’s been nearly 16 years since I posted my first words to the internet for anyone to read. I’m sure in those 16 years, you’ve grown to know a lot about me. But there are things you may not know. How about a little random nosey?
I learned to drive on an old (OLD) McCormick Deering tractor.
My favorite childhood books were the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
We had horses and raised donkeys when I was growing up. Our first jenny (female donkey) was named Strawberry. Her first baby, we named Shortcake.
My parents divorced when I was 31.
I love having people over to our house. The bigger the crowd, the better. I also love being alone and am comfortable being in complete silence all day.
Houses have been a love of mine my entire life. I can vividly remember details about houses of friends and family from my childhood.
I’m not a chocolate bar or chocolate chip lover, but chocolate is always and forever will be my choice for ice cream.
I’m 5’4” and wear a size 6 shoe.
I’m an unwavering lover of autumn and winter. October and January are my favorite months.
My husband proposed to me on an airplane.
One of my favorite things to do is to create something out of nothing.
I was born and raised in northwest Montana and have one older sister and one younger brother.
I’ve never had any injections, cosmetic surgeries, or even a spray tan, but I do have my eyebrows nanobladed, which I love.
I purchase 90% of my clothes on eBay.
I grew up in a musical family and have sung and played piano since I was young, but I can’t read music and cannot correctly hear song lyrics (much to the amusement of my family).
My car is 12 years old and I plan on driving it for a good handful more.
I loved fishing when I was a girl.
I rarely order a drink other than ice water at restaurants.
I am earthy and elegant.
This Zoom will be such a treat for me Carmella. I feel like I’ve been following you forever starting with your blog, newsletter and now here on Substack. I know your lovely community here will agree with me that receiving “On Living Well” in their mailbox is a breath of fresh air, tied up with a bow of grace. 😊
