Simple Living | A Get-Away Kit (List)
An unexpected, hundreds-of-miles-long road trip just might mean that, in your scattered packing, you’ll forget something. This was us recently. In my jumbled state of mind, I left key things behind that would have made mealtimes in our cabin and camper stays along the way easier and better. So, as the miles slipped by on our way home, I made a mental list. Because, living in the middle of what you’ve forgotten is the best time to make a list of what you wish you would have had.
So, a picnic kit. A get-away kit. An overnight-in-a-camper-or-cabin kit. A not-quite-but-almost-camping kit. Whatever it might be called, it consists of the non-food essentials to make coffee or tea, to open a bottle, or to serve food from a campfire, cooler, or take-out box, all contained in a single basket, bin, or bag. An easy grab that's always packed and ready to go.
When I have my kit together and complete (See the photo? I’ve got it started), I’ll share all about it, but today, I’m sharing my list, because I’m sure it’s not complete and you’ll likely have ideas of things I might include. Perhaps you’ll want to assemble one, too? Here’s to all of us being ready to get away this summer.
