There’s something about gathering all the components for a particular task and keeping them together in one container, ready to reach for when you need it. A kit, in simple words. No hunting around for all the things, no starting a task only to find that you’re missing key tools, parts, or pieces.
Maybe it’s the feeling of being prepared that appeals, or perhaps it’s a sense of efficiency, knowing that you have what you need to accomplish a thing, even if you only have ten minutes of effort to offer it. And, let’s be honest, maybe it’s just as much about finding the container to hold it all. I’d say landing a just-right basket, bin, or box is just as satisfying as filling it with its kit-specific components. (Remember the get-away kit?)
