Heavy clouds, spilling late afternoon rain, forced me inside. Maggie Mae curled up in her chair and was fast asleep before I even put the kettle on. I’m sipping my tea while listening to the rain, while writing this to you.
I was planting in the garden before the rain came. I was planting in the garden! It’s June 14! I can’t believe it’s so late, but I also can’t believe how much I’m loving my new garden. There are four square beds, paths covered in wood chips, two trellises, and soon to be willow borders and a pretend fountain, all enclosed by a rustic fence. A flowerbed border runs all the way around the outside. It’s small. It feels just right.
I’ll be sharing photos, I will, but first the inspiration. You’ll recognize the feeling - you’ve seen it before, and some of the elements, too. This is simply a rendition of that. I love how inspiration is like a story that keeps unfolding.
Wishing you a lovely weekend!
