Yes! It's the "I thought of you." I love keeping an eye out for things at the thrift store, and texting a friend a photo - "Do you still need blue plates for your plate wall? Only $2.99!" Such fun to "shop" for others, and to help them find the perfect thing they have been on the hunt for!
Yes! This is so fun. I recently texted a thrifting friend and gave her two specific things I'm looking for. Better when there are more sets of eyes on the hunt!
Written so beautifully. So many memories of my mom giving, aunts, neighbors doing just this. The gift of giving passed on to us, the daughters. And you’re so very right—a small gift of something from the garden at the end of a very hard day—a blessing. A shared “something” that seems to soften that hard day. A small gift to say,—I care & I’m thinking of you. Thank you for this reminder to keep doing—a small gesture as this, is so very kind to receive & joyful to give.
I love this so much! My husband and I, back in the fall, quickly began a tradition. He first had a dear friend, an 84 yo woman, that has "adopted" us as her children. My husband is disabled, but I fill such an urgency to make sure these dear people get together monthly. I'm blessed by this! Our beautiful friend never comes to our gatherings without a gift (her own published book, homemade cookies, homemade salsa and other things) in hand! And today, I shared with her something that was not expensive at all but spoke to my heart, and I knew she needed it! I could go on and on!
Love this so much. I recently started a gift stash in my hope chest and since I love to craft, my goal is to fill it with handmade and thrifted small gifts for whenever the moment arises. My most recent addition to the chest was three tiny baby hats, hand knitted from thrifted alpaca yarn. 🥰
My two oldest sisters and I send one another gifts often. Soft pretty socks, jars of delicious jams, packets of cookies, tiny embroidered creations, cards, bags of homegrown lavender, lavender stuffed mini heart pillows, books, seed packets…
It goes on and on. How I love my sisters. Thank you for this dear Carmella ❤️
This is perfect. Beautiful.

Another fav series❤️ This is pure Sweetness, Love. I to and my very best friend have been doing this from day one.
She made me precious hand bands, Lavender Sachets……… Pillows…. All from Vintage, fabric had sent her. I sent many things on your list❤️as well.
I have always found it heart warming to shop the house, for the simple thoughtful little things. Not store bought.
Thank you,
Karen
Oh, lavender sachets, such a great idea!

Especially love that you ask if still wanted!

Kindness and giving - they go hand in hand, don't they?

I love this, Kim. Adopted family truly is some of the best family.
