Since Helene swept through our mountains I find myself realizing what a privilege it is to have a home and to do small things like load the dishwasher or fold clean clothes. I have walked through my days with a deep sense of gratitude that permeates every single thing I do, every item I touch, every tiny bit of beauty and comfort that is available to me. It has changed how I see the world.

I feel the same as I watch the reels and photos of the incredible damage left by Helene. Fortunately our home was spared and I’m pairing down to share with neighbors who were not as lucky. 😊

That’s a great idea 💡 To make a list. I forget to do that as I sort through things. I end up picking up more of what I don’t need. 🤨

Carmella:

So happy to see your post.

This series so glad you incorporate it into your blog, oh my goodness, yes there is always these boxes that go unchecked. Grrr! I love these boxes they look awesome and come in so handy.

I have purged, sorted, etc all the Winter garb, and made an replacement list of needed items. It so is freeing and helps with space issues.

I am ever so grateful, that your home….. and all has subsided., Thank goodness.❤️

Thank you,

Karen

I can SO identify with methods of telling my mind that it is in control. It has been difficult to realize powerlessness can be my friend. I had forgotten how to live a moment, a thing, at a time. Sometimes my decorating, organizing is a vain attempt at trying to give myself control, however, I can also see that it poked me to remember I only get to do the next right thing and focus on it and grow gratitude, to accept the spirituality, the sacred in the mundane. Appreciation is amazing. My mind can tell me HOW DARE YOU be grateful can’t you see (fill in blank with real or imagined crisis) you cannot be ok and serene until you FIX it. Ugh it LIES

Thank you so much for sharing small joys
