I walked through the front door and into the house just in time to see the afternoon sun illuminating these exquisite amaryllis blooms on the end table. What a show. Loves, I wholeheartedly encourage you to have something in your home that takes your breath away.
Near the end of our virtual meet-up on Tuesday night, in response to a question, I talked about ways to freshen or change a room without changing or moving the furniture. I shared how I make small changes to our bookcase by adding artwork, or changing how the shelves are styled. Another way that I suggested to easily bring change is to stuff your throw pillows into new covers.
But, I shared, the most frequent way I bring freshness to our home is through plants and flowers. It seems that I’m always taking the opportunity of available space on the round table at the end of the sofa to cluster plants, flowers, dried flowers, or even pots mounded with moss (eighth slide in). I thought you might enjoy seeing a round-up of some of the beauty that’s been on that table over the years, to give you some inspiration for your home. (And the grape leaf ivy you see in the background in photos six and seven below? It outgrew our house and was gifted to a new one.)
Here’s to freshening our homes, without moving the furniture.
Elegant simplicity.
