May not be in the decor world to have a lot of walls barren. Sure wish you had an cue for retired couple /us who wants to move, as in less house, less acreage, but with residing in the country side.
Simply elegant. Feels like the creation of an uncluttered mind.
The rooms, although small for the most part, seem spacious.
Your comment about no picture over the bed had a freeing effect on me.
For months I have been aware of the blank wall at the head of our bed. It seemed like the perfect place to hang a piece of the abundant art from our previous home…most of which now sits unused, stored in the knee walls of our little cottage, but nothing really spoke to me.
Now I realize that I don’t actually want something hanging over my head as I sleep.
Maybe someday something will speak to me but for now the blank wall seems perfect.
Isn't it interesting how we believe things have to be a certain way, or need to be placed in certain places, and when we actually stop and think about it, we're not sure why? Freedom!!!
Lovely cozy rooms.
Carmella,
Rustic Elegance with Simple Beautifulness.
The plaster walls, Rugs, Double Quilts are so in tune to the home.
Omg so glad you highlighted the No Picture above the bed, we have never hung one or the guest bedroom here at the farmhouse.
To think about we haven’t in any of our houses.
Thank you for sharing this with us all.
Karen
I've also seen a small, almost tiny, piece of art hung above the bed, and that, too, is so unexpected and lovely.
Would go with that for sure.
